- Well, I left the US for Central America in November of 1972, just as Richard
- Nixon won re-election in a landslide, then returned to the US in late August of
- 1974, just a few weeks after Nixon resigned. (No correlation between the dates
- and the events; things just happened to work out that way.) Having missed those
- intervening two years and all that took place in them, I felt out of sync with
- the rest of the country for at least a good 5-10 years afterwards. ..bruce..
