  41. I am neither a "salesdroid" nor an "administrator" -- I am a hard
  42. working software designer and programmer.  Most would be hard pressed
  43. to classify my existence as useless. For many of us, if there weren't
  44. "salesdroids" out there selling our products then we would be out of a
  45. job!  No sales, no income.  No income, no salary.  No salary, no job.
  46. Period. End of story.

  48. I don't believe in sucking up.  Makes you look like a fool.  What you
  49. wear is a superficial way of showing up as an individual.  True
  50. individuality is shown by your actions and the beliefs which lead to
  51. those actions.  These are the attributes which make a difference in
  52. whether you are remembered after you die as a great human being, or
  53. just another conformist wimp.  Remember: Rev.  Martin Luther King Jr.
  54. was wearing a suit the day he was killed -- and he _certainly_ was no
  55. conformist.

  57. About the investment industry, Kayembee, where do you think the
  58. company you work for got the capital to start up?  Or if you work at a
  59. research institution, think about where a lot of your research money
  60. comes from.  Right.  Corporate america.  The corporations which sell
  61. bonds (in other words, borrow money) from investment banks such as the
  62. one I work for.  The things we do here help to make the things you do
  63. possible.

  65. Finally, about respect, every living thing is due respect.  When I
  66. treat someone with respect, I find that 99% of the time I receive
  67. respect in return.  A person is no less worthy of respect because they
  68. have an occupation which you find uninteresting.  It is interesting to
  69. them; otherwise they would not pursue it.
