- I'll admit that gary is a little off-base here...
-
- Keep telling yourself that, monkey-boy, and maybe the noose
- around your neck will rankle less. The monkey suits are the uniform
- of the salesdroids and administrators; I think of it as their punishment
- for leading a fundamentally useless existence :-).
-
- But this drivel...
- Deep breath. Another deep breath.
- Aww, I tried to resist.
-
- FLAME MODE ON!
-
- I am neither a "salesdroid" nor an "administrator" -- I am a hard
- working software designer and programmer. Most would be hard pressed
- to classify my existence as useless. For many of us, if there weren't
- "salesdroids" out there selling our products then we would be out of a
- job! No sales, no income. No income, no salary. No salary, no job.
- Period. End of story.
-
- I don't believe in sucking up. Makes you look like a fool. What you
- wear is a superficial way of showing up as an individual. True
- individuality is shown by your actions and the beliefs which lead to
- those actions. These are the attributes which make a difference in
- whether you are remembered after you die as a great human being, or
- just another conformist wimp. Remember: Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
- was wearing a suit the day he was killed -- and he _certainly_ was no
- conformist.
-
- About the investment industry, Kayembee, where do you think the
- company you work for got the capital to start up? Or if you work at a
- research institution, think about where a lot of your research money
- comes from. Right. Corporate america. The corporations which sell
- bonds (in other words, borrow money) from investment banks such as the
- one I work for. The things we do here help to make the things you do
- possible.
-
- Finally, about respect, every living thing is due respect. When I
- treat someone with respect, I find that 99% of the time I receive
- respect in return. A person is no less worthy of respect because they
- have an occupation which you find uninteresting. It is interesting to
- them; otherwise they would not pursue it.
-
- FLAME MODE off...
-
- Whew. I fell much better now.
-
- Spidey!!!
