- Now that's funny. A few years ago at my company all the customer
- service reps went on a "professionalism" kick--all the guys started
- wearing suits and ties, and the women were wearing suits or nice
- dresses, because that's the way professionals dress. What was so
- goofy about it was these people all sat in an office and answered
- the phone all day--they never met any customers in person! The
- fancier attire was supposed to magically make them act in a more
- professional manner. Of course, according to Kenn, they also
- became Yuppies.
-
- I find people who are zealots about NOT wearing ties just as
- amusing (before they become tiresome) as those who are zealots
- about wearing ties. As Marcia said, sometimes you feel like
- dressing up, others you don't.
