  22.      The most traumatic event of those years to me was Ford
  23. pardoning Nixon.
  24.      It was a stupid thing to do. I think it pissed the American
  25. People off and prevented Ford from being re-elected. So although
  26. he won the nomination over Ronald Reagan lost to a Democrat(knee-
  27. jerk reaction by the American People. He was incompetant thus last
  28. times runner-up was elected(Ron).
  29.     The taumatic part to me looking back on it was that I think
  30. neither Carter or Reagan would have ever been elected President.
