  13. I'd say this problem affects the not-so-young transplants as well as
  14. the young ones.

  16. I think it depends a lot on where you end up.  After I left grad school
  17. I lived in the Boston area for a while, and found there were always things
  18. to do where I was meeting other singles -- for example, I signed up for
  19. some fun classes at the Boston Center for Adult Education.  But here
  20. in New Haven, it's been tougher.  The city itself is pretty dead, and
  21. while Yale offers a lot of performing arts stuff that's not really the
  22. sort of activity where you can make new friends easily.
