  14. Since the library files seem to be very, very large, I've come across
  15. two files that are a little more reasonable (although not as informative).
  16. They are now on the listserv as "GENEALOG LIB-ADDR" which is a list of
  17. several hundred Internet accessable libraries with their addresses, both
  18. IP and alphabetic. The second file is "GENEALOG LIBCONTX", which is a list
  19. of administrative contacts at the libraries (email addresses).  These
  20. two files are a lot smaller and easily printed out, so if you want a list
  21. of libraries, without all the login information and technical stuff, these
  22. are for you.

  24. Get them two ways:
  25.  
  26. 1) email to LISTSERV@vm1.nodak.edu with the message "get GENEALOG LIB-ADDR"
  27. or "get GENEALOG LIBCONTX".  No subject line is needed, but be sure to send
  28. the message to LISTSERV and not ROOTS-L.

  30. 2) ftp to vm1.nodak.edu, use directory ROOTS-L and get the files.  Note that
  31. ftp requires the use of the period "." after GENEALOG, while the LISTSERV
  32. uses a space.
