  24. They certainly have archived microfilms of German church registers.
  25. To find out which ones, you'll have to contact your nearest Church
  26. of Latter Day Saints (LDS - English spelling; I'm not sure what a German
  27. spelling would be, sorry) and ask about the nearest Family History
  28. Center (FHC).  In the USA and Canada, these are usually staffed by 
  29. volunteers and they have a set of microfilms of local interest in 
  30. their library.  However, to access what you likely want, you must 
  31. consult a catalogue, perhaps on microfilm or microfiche, and determine 
  32. the title and order number of the film you want.  You order it from 
  33. Salt Lake City, Utah (SLC) and when it arrives, you reserve some time 
  34. at a microfilm viewing station and search away.

  36. In the Toronto area LDS FHC, it cost about $4.00 to order the film
  37. and it would remain at the FHC for 4-6 weeks.  For a further $2.00,
  38. I was able to keep it for six months.  It is then returned to SLC.
