- Last Friday I found an ancestor, George Mosser (b. c. 1756 or 1761, d.
- 19 Jan 1826 or 1825), who served in the Revolutionary War and lived in
- Berks and/or Lehigh Cos., PA. I found his Rev. War Pension & Bounty
- Land Application records at the National Archives-New England Branch,
- and the above (conflicting) dates are taken from them. He had a wife,
- Elizabeth, and children Ester, Sarah, Hannah (m. Edward Smeck), Susan
- (m. a Bierer?), Jacob, Maria (m. John Crossley, my ancestors, who ended
- up in Hamilton Co., IN), Margareth, Elizabeth (m. John Webb), Geroge,
- Jospeh, and James. I have located several Mosser families in these two
- counties in the 1790-1830 census records. I suspect he is of German
- ancestry. He served in Armand's Legion of Light Horse; Armand was a
- French nobleman who organized this cavalry unit. Before I do much more
- digging on George, I wondered if anyone in ROOTS-L/soc.roots land could
- give me some pointers to specific information on this family.

- Thanks for your help.
