- The Sutro Library has a wonderful collection of books, magazines, and micro-
- films and fiches. If you are in the San Francisco Bay Area the Sutro, the
- Oakland LDS center, Archives, Stanford, and UCB are the five key places to try.
-
- Because Sutro is officially part of the San Francisco library system and is
- funded by SF, the recent budget problems have resulted in reduced hours.
- As is usual in systems run by governments, the hours are chosen to suit their
- own convenience and not those of the patrons; thus it is now closed on
- Saturday (and Sunday), and the evening hours are also a thing of the past.
-
- It is half a block from the Stonestown shopping mall, and not far at all from
- SFSU.
-
- Summary: if you can get there when they are open, by all means go!
