-
- I agree with you 100% but I would go even farther and
- say that homeschooling is even preferable to private institutional schools
- (in Illinois a home school is a private school just the same as a private
- school with 500 or more children). God gave children to parents not to the
- government, not to the church, and not to the church school but to parents.
-
- There is no way that children can be trained up in the way they should go
- in the public school. On the contrary, they will only learn the way that
- they shouldn't go. The entire worldview, the entire culture presented in
- the public school is (or should be) alien to a Christian. Secular humanism,
- condom distribution, values clarification, evolution, mockery of God and
- the Bible, promotion of sodomy as normal, etc. are a complete opposite to
- God's way for children to be trained. We could discuss that God wants children
- to be immersed in His way of thinking (as presented in Deuteronomy). How can
- we then consider putting our children in a prison (compulsary education laws
- make it that) where any mention of God or His Word is censored.
-
- This is not even considering that the public schools are not hardly
- educating anyone. They are simply an expensive facade for political
- and cultural indoctrination. (Do I loathe the public school system?
- YES; I am convinced that it is absolutely a satanic creation.)
-
- Our family has been homeschooling since January of this year. We have two
- boys, ages 9 and 11, who had previously attended public school. We believe
- that we are called by God to homeschool the boys and we take that calling
- very seriously. As the Bible says, we are seeking first His kingdom and
- His righteousness (by putting God first in our family's lives) and all
- the other things will be added (character development and academics).
-
- To get an idea of how bad the public school system is academically, I
- suggest the following books:
-
- NEA - The Trojan Horse by Sam Blumenthal (I am not exactly sure on title and
- author)
-
- Endangered Minds - Why Children Don't Think and What We Can Do About it?
- by Jane Healy ISBN 0-671-74920-x
-
- Why Johnny Can't Read by Rudolf Flesch
-
- Why Johnny Still Can't Read by Rudolf Flesch
-
- These should give you an idea that the public school system is as bankrupt
- academically as it is morally and spiritually. (Healy blames the parents
- and the prevalent culture as much if not more than the public schools.)
-
-
- "Jesus saith unto him, I am THE way, THE truth, and THE life: NO MAN cometh
- unto the Father, BUT BY ME" John 14:6
