  34. It appears that editors at the various Knight-Ridder newspapers are
  35. either talking to each other or have come down with a highly unusual case of
  36. groupthink.

  38. About a month ago, Zack Stalberg, editor of the _Philadelphia Daily News_,
  39. announced that a regular monthly Op-Ed column would be launched this coming
  40. month (December), alternating between an openly gay man and a lesbian [the
  41. man's name escapes me; the woman will be local writer Victoria Brownworth].
  42. The paper has been running Brownworth's columns as "guest opinions" on a
  43. fairly regular basis for several months, and she has also appeared occa-
  44. sionally on the Commentary page of the _News's_ bigger sister, the
  45. _Philadelphia Inquirer_.  All four of the papers mentioned in this article
  46. are owned by Knight-Ridder.
