- It appears that editors at the various Knight-Ridder newspapers are
- either talking to each other or have come down with a highly unusual case of
- groupthink.
-
- About a month ago, Zack Stalberg, editor of the _Philadelphia Daily News_,
- announced that a regular monthly Op-Ed column would be launched this coming
- month (December), alternating between an openly gay man and a lesbian [the
- man's name escapes me; the woman will be local writer Victoria Brownworth].
- The paper has been running Brownworth's columns as "guest opinions" on a
- fairly regular basis for several months, and she has also appeared occa-
- sionally on the Commentary page of the _News's_ bigger sister, the
- _Philadelphia Inquirer_. All four of the papers mentioned in this article
- are owned by Knight-Ridder.
-
- Where will this trend pop up next? _The Miami Herald_? _The Wichita Eagle_?
