- I wasn't talking in the context of 2 here, just about the case in which they
- "specifically ruled" that homosexuals were "not" a protected minority. I
- (perhaps erroneously) assumed this meant they had struck down a gay rights law
- somewhere by saying "homosexuals don't deserve protection". Once again, you've
- alluded to a case without giving details. Now that you've elaborated on the
- literacy test exemption case, I am reasonably satisfied it is not much of a
- precedent as it applies to 2, for the very reasons you point out above - there
- is a major difference between simply not offering someone protection and
- explicitly denying it. You posted other references to the case you mention
- above, but it was very sketchy. Have you been able to come up with "the rest
- of the story" on this one?
