  17. I assume you're talking about Sen. Sam Nunn. He's not up for
  18. elective office. Clinton is considering him for his cabinet (Sec.
  19. of Defense?). Clinton was asked at his recent press conference about
  20. this discrepancy with respect to allowing gays in the military, and replied
  21. that his appointees don't have to agree with his policies in order to
  22. implement them, and that in fact it's a bad thing to have only appointees
  23. who agree with one on everything. Of course, Nunn's opinion suggests
  24. a larger set of attitudes towards LGB people, beyond just policy detail.
