- would one go about prosecuting an incident of gay bashing in
- Colorado now? Would it have to be tried as assault, with no
- reference to it being a hate crime, or motivated by hatred of
- gays?

- because the crimes could not be identified as such in order to be
- prosecuted.

- Sounds like gay bashers would have free reign to express their
- hatred. Sure, they might get caught and have assault charges
- pressed, but there's no way for gays and lesbians in Colorado to
- fight the specific instance and intent of violence against them
- as gay men, lesbians and bisexuals now, is there?
