- While most of the focus has been to keep the pressure on Clinton to keep
- his campaign pledge to remove the ban on GLBs in the military, I don't
- think that we should forget that there are steps that he should take in
- his remaining two months as governor of Arkansas.
-
- Arkansas is one of the states that still makes homosexual sodomy a
- crime. There are hundreds of men languishing in Arkansas prisons today,
- having been convicted of this offense. I say that Governor Clinton
- should issue a full, complete, and unconditional pardon to each one of
- them before he leaves office.
-
- While such a step would in no way redress those who have suffered at
- the hands of the state, it would at least allow Clinton to enter the
- presidency penitent and remorseful for the wrongs that his
- administration has done to these people.
