  12. Thanks to Jack Newsbaum for posting the items from GLAAD.  I
  13. think such information is useful.  I also agree with Jack
  14. that taking action is worth the effort.

  16. Stimulated by one of the recent items, I wrote to the person
  17. who chairs a committee developing guidelines for accrediting
  18. higher-education institutions, whose draft document
  19. explicitly exempts affected institutions from having to
  20. include sexual minorities in their diversity policies.

  22. I mention this here to point out that despite sometimes very
  23. sharp disagreement over political philosophy, there are good
  24. reasons not to let such issues divide us in any way that
  25. prevents action for the common good on matters we do agree
  26. about.
