- None of addresses in the list requires explicit routing through
- chulkn.chula.ac.th. Chulkn is Thailand's official mail exchanger anyway.
- There are 14 FQDN hosts being supported at this moment.

- nwg.nectec.or.th ThaiSarn Public Access Computer, NECTEC, NSTDA
- cs.ait.ac.th Computer Science Dept, AIT
- cmu.chiangmai.ac.th Computer Service Center, Chiangmai

- ipied.tu.ac.th Information Processing Inst for Education and
- Development, Thammasat
- ratree.psu.ac.th Computer Science Dept, Prince of Songkhla
- ram1.ru.ac.th Chemistry Dept, Ramkhamhaeng

- Only chulkn has IP. Most hosts of academic sites use MHSnet software from
- Australia.
-
- If you ask different people, you will probably get a different answer. But
- I'll call the domestic academic and research network as ThaiSarn. More info
- about ThaiSarn can be anon-FTPed from snake.mcs.kent.edu. It was also on
- june.cs.washington.edu but last time I checked, the file has disappeared.
- The file is called thaisarn.zip. An arguable big picture of ThaiSarn can be
- found in the file pubnet.zip located in the same directory (if you can find
- it ;-)

- Thanks for putting up this word. It's not that these people are anti-social
- but the whole network is relying on a low speed link (9600bps) between
- Chula and UUNET. Such a link cannot cope with too much traffic.
-
- ThaiSarn has a few mailing lists/listserv type of discussion running on
- decth.co.th. There are currently 11 lists, namely:
- test whatever one may want to do in order to familiarize oneself
- to the facility
- chitchat social events and all nonsense topics
- it-stds information technology standards -- more of a formal list
- for members of the IT committee/subcommittees of the Thai
- Industrial Standards Institute
- lnews local news distribution; same as those posted to s.c.thai by
- Khun Kamol et al
- nettalk network discussion
- pc pee cees and related discussions
- politik local politics and conspiracies
- qol quality of life and NGO-type of activities
- s-c-thai local re-distribution point for s.c.thai articles; currently
- inactive awaiting for some kind soul to mail news article to
- the list that will re-distribute each article to local
- network users. currently not many people in Thailand can read
- s.c.thai, therefore, there is virtually no participation from
- the homeland. contact postmaster@decth.co.th for arrangement.
- soc-econ socio-economic discussions
- unix huh!
-
- While the facility can serve all international subscribers, this is
- _discouraged_ by the fact that we don't have high international bandwidth.
- Sending multiple copies of same mail content and sink the link is not a good
- idea. It would be much better if there will be re-distribution point(s)
- outside Thailand. Please contact postmaster@decth.co.th for such an
- arrangement.
-
- A gateway to local BBS networks is under development.
