  13. Not only have these things really happened, but during the nationally 
  14. televized funeral procession of MGR it was horrifying to see live and
  15. and on national TV, the assault on Jayalalita, by the nephew of MGR's 
  16. wife, Janaki Ramachandran. So much so that,  in the assembly when the 
  17. assaults on Jayalalita continued, it was just as though what was seen
  18. on TV, was a trailer and this was the main feature. Such is the level
  19. of degeneration that politics in Tamil Nadu has come down to.
