- Clean Sweep :
- A stone's throw from the stately Raj Bhavan are some of the worst
- slums of Madras, housing 7000 families. These residents were one
- day stunned to see a group of well dressed men descend upon them
- armed with brooms. "At first they sniggered. Then one by one the
- ladies came forward, grabbed the brooms and themselves began
- sweeping.", says M.B.Nirmal chairman and founder of Exnora Intl.

- One of the main objectives Exnora, formed in 1989, is civic
- cleanliness. Says Nirmal, "We feel that the residents should feel
- responsible for their streets and not rely on corporation".Exnora
- has so far covered 450 locations and over 34 slums in Madras.
- Nirmal who is the chief manager in charge of marketing at IOB on
- a transfer. As he goes, he leaves a whiff of cleanliness.
