- The GOI had recommended 10 % reservations for economically deprived
- people. But the Supreme Court turned it down saying that the Constitution
- doesn't allow any quota based on economic criteria.

- And I don't think the GOI will present a Bill in Parliament to modify the
- Supreme Court ruling. This is not something like Shahabano case :-)
- Moreover, the Congress is more concerned about their vote bank than
- anything else (with possibility of another mid-term elections and no
- issues at hand).
