- Man you should have got the passport replaced long back. You are indeed
- very late for it now. For the purpose of getting a new passport, you'll
- have to file a Police Complaint, and then take a copy of the Report to
- the Consulate. You would be well advized to file a police complaint NOW
- tellling the police that you lost the passport recently. Then take this
- report and go to the Consulate PRONTO, or send it to them by mail.

- The Consulate at San Francisco is the most efficient of all Consulates
- in America. In fact the COnsulates of India are far more efficinet than
- even the American Embassies abroad. I have personal experiences of this
- but to come back to the issue, you should send in the Application form,
- which you have to ask from the Consulate by Express Mail, and you will
- get the new Passport back within 5 working days. In fact if you make a
- trip to the Consulate, you will get the new passport the very next day
- itself.

-
- Yes, it probably is possible. In fact it is. But you have got to take a
- copy of the Police Report with you to the Consulate.
