  15. Calypso & Steelband Music Award Inc. announced that the 4th Annual Calypso
  16. & Steelband Music ╘Sunshine╒ Award Program held in New York city on 
  17. October 31st. was a huge success.

  19. The Award Program is designed to recognize, honour and pay tribute to the
  20. artist, writer, producer and arranger of Calypso & Steelband music for
  21. their talents and contributions to the art form. 
  22. Gil Figaro, Founder and Chairman of the program was pleased with the
  23. execution of this year╒s program. Unfortu-nately scheduled hostess, Roberta
  24. Flack canceled due to laryngitis.

  26. The evening╒s entertainment included performances by Second Imij, Robert
  27. Greenidge, Boogsie Sharpe, Arddin Herbert, Earl Brooks, Valentino,
  28. Chalkdust, Colin Lucas, David Rudder, Luta, Sugar Aloes, Chaimaine Yates,
  29. Natasha Wilson, Designer, Soca Kid, Marie Brooks Dance Theater, Raf
  30. Robertson, Ellsworth James and Casym Steel Orchestra.
