- The presence of the US or US aid to the Philippines is irrelevant to
- their economic decline. The Philippine`s declined because its leaders
- were to corrupt (Marcos) and because their govt. lacked vision.
-
- U.S. military aid to Bangladesh may be a boon. It could take of some
- of the burden of military spending from the annual budget. Moreover,
- military ties can be exploited in favor of economic ties. Just take
- a look at South Korea and Japan.
