- Ag, here in South Africa it's a question of another day, another
- scandal. The feeling is one of total apathy towards politics,
- that whatever is going to happen in South Africa's politics,
- will happen. Everybody is concentrating on his/her own drinking
- habits.
-
- There have been so many scandals, dishonesty and corruption from
- all parties involved that people have become desensitized and
- just don't care anymore. (Doesn't this remind you of a Bart
- Simpson episode on getting desensitized to violence ;)
-
- Coming back to my question of posting in Afrikaans. As far as
- I gauge the attitude it is favourable towards postings in
- Afrikaans. Afrikaans is taught in American schools as a germanic
- language. Also there's quite a few South Africans living
- abroad, which does merit an international audience. This is a
- cultural kind of group, and subsequently this would be an
- appropriate group for postings in Afrikaans.
-
- I don't know what the original charter for this group was, but
- the strong political thread that is evident does not fit in
- a soc.culture.* group, I think. For that there is
- sanet.talk.politics. It would be interesting to see the
- original charter though.
