- the origami girl). The troll was a project of the Fremont Arts Council,
- a private neighborhood organization. However, they applied for, and received,
- a matching funds grant from the Office of Neighborhoods, a city agency.

- I think the way the troll was chosen is interesting. The summer before the
- troll was built, there was a booth at the Fremont Street Fair that had
- small-scale models of the 4 finalist contenders for the under-the-bridge
- sculpture. The street-fair-goers got to vote on which one they liked the
- best, and the troll won by, as I recall, a large majority.
