  12. In their paper which appeared in 1989 in the Journal of Physics A.,
  13. Winternitz and Levi mention that there is still an open question
  14. concerning what determines whether an equation has non-classical
  15. symmetries in the sense of Blumen and Cole which are not classical
  16. symmetries.

  18. Does anyone know if there has been any work done on this subject?

  20. I am about to release a Mathematica package which will compute the
  21. determining equations for both the classical and non-classical symmetries
  22. for arbitrarily large systems of equations, and am interested in
  23. theoretical work in this area.
