- Applications must be postmarked no later than the final filing date.
- Applications postmarked, personally delivered or received via interoffice
- mail after the final filing date will not be accepted for any reason.

- If you meet the entrance requirements for this class and for
- State Oil and Gas Supervisor scheduled on the same day, you may
- file for both examinations on a single application.

- NO WRITTEN TEST IS REQUIRED
- The entire examination will consist of an interview.

- QUALIFICATIONS APPRAISAL
- It is anticipated that interviews will be held during <<WAS>> December 1992/
- January 1993; <<IS NOW>> January/February 1993 in Sacramento.

- SALARY RANGE: $6340-6990

- These is an open examination. Applications will not be accepted on a
- promotional basis. Career credits do not apply.

- NOTE: All applicants must meet the examination and/or experience
- requirements for this examination by the final filing date.

- REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMITTANCE TO EXAMINATIONS
-
- NOTE: It is your responsibility to make sure you meet the
- education and/or experience requirements stated below. Your
- signature on your application indicates that you have read,
- understood, and possess the basic qualifications required.

- Qualifying experience may be combined on a proportionate basis if the
- requirements state below include more than one pattern and are
- distinguished as Either "I", or "II", or "III", etc. For example,
- candidates possessing qualifying experience amounting to 50% of the
- required time of Pattern I and additional experience amounting to 50% of
- the required time of Pattern II may be admitted to the examination as
- meeting 100% of the overall experience requirements.

- Pursuant to Public Resources Code, Division 1, Chapter 1, Article 2,
- Section 3103, the chief deputy shall be a competent engineer or geologist,
- registered in the State, and experienced in the development and production
- of oil and gas. (Applicants who do not meet this criteria will be admitted
- to the examination but they must attain registration before appointment to
- the position.)

- EITHER I

- Three years of progressively responsible experience in the California State
- Service in a line or staff position that has included participation in
- program or policy development and program management in the fields of
- geology or petroleum engineering. This experience must have been in a
- position performing duties at a level of responsibility equal to Senior Oil
- and Gas Engineer.

- OR II
-
- Broad and extensive (more than five years) experience in oil, gas,
- geothermal drilling or production operations, at least two years of which
- shall have been in a highly responsible supervisory capacity. (A graduate
- degree in petroleum engineering or a closely related field may be
- substituted for two years of the nonsupervisory experience.)
