  25. The International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE)
  26. and the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) will, in
  27. collaboration with the Danish Society for Biomedical Engineering,
  28. organize a Working Conference for invited participants on biosignal
  29. interpretation.  The main topics are the integration between systems
  30. for biosignal analysis and decision support methods. The application
  31. areas include patient monitoring and physiological function
  32. assessment, applied during surgery, intensive and coronary care and
  33. chronic care. This includes interpretation of e.g. ECG, EEG, flow and
  34. pressure signals and their integration with other patient data.
  35. Besides applications, the Working Conference will stress the
  36. development of non-linear processing methods and models, and the
  37. integration of systems in departmental network environments.

  76. The Working Conference on Biosignal Interpretation will be held at the
  77. Conference Center "Rebild Bakker", situated in the heart of one of
  78. Denmark's most beautiful sceneries. Rebild Bakker has a large,
  79. well-equipped auditorium and many conference rooms for poster sessions
  80. and exhibitions. In and around the center there are excellent
  81. facilities for informal discussions and recreation.  There is an
  82. indoor swimmingpool, outdoor tennis courts and bicycles will be
  83. available.  The center is situated 35 km south of Aalborg in the
  84. immediate vicinity of the Danish National Park "Rebild" and of the
  85. Forest of Rold which is the largest in Denmark. The heather hills in
  86. "Rebild" were bought in 1912 by Danish Americans and donated to the
  87. Danish state. Every year, several thousands celebrate the 4th of July
  88. in Rebild.

  122. obstetrics, perinatal medicine, surgery, anaesthesia, neurophysiology,
  123. and neurology.  Participation:

  125. Besides a number of invited speakers, the Scientific Program Committee
  126. will invite interested participants on the basis of proposals for
  127. contributions.  For that reason, people interested in the subject of
  128. Biosignal Interpretation are kindly asked to submit a notification of
  129. interest in participation before October 31, 1992. Instructions to
  130. authors will then be forwarded. A paper of maximum 2,500 words (i.e.
  131. about 10 pages A4, including References, Figures and Tables) should be
  132. submitted before January 15, 1993. The Scientific Program
  133.  
  134. Committee will then review the papers and decide on acceptance. Only
  135. authors who submit a full paper are invited to the Conference.

  137. Participation fees:
  138.  
  139. The participation fee for the Working Conference will be 4,900 DKK.
  140. This includes registration fee, conference facilities, hotel and all
  141. meals.  Authors whose full papers have reached the Scientific Program
  142. Committee before December 31, 1992, will receive a discount of 500 DKK
  143. (100 DKK is about 16 USD). All participants will receive a copy of the
  144. journal and the Proceedings, free of charge at the Conference.

  147. Between 30-40 papers will be selected by the Scientific Program
  148. Committee for oral presentation at the Working Conference. The
  149. intention is to publish these papers in an internationally recognized
  150. journal.  Another 50-80 papers will be selected for publication in the
  151. Conference Proceedings and for poster sessions at the Conference.
