- At Maine Public Broadcasting we had nylon carpet and LOTS of
- static charge. Not good for people or equipment.

- In a dull moment, I took a few 1 meg resistors, curled and
- soldered the ends to eliminate sharp points and gave them to
- anyone who was interested.

- When we approached a known "zap point" we would pull our little
- gizmos out and, holding one end of the resistor, touch the
- object.

- The charge is dissipated painlessly. Guests in the studios would
- get this weird look on their face when offered one . . .
