- In Australia, meter pulses are actually brief reversals of the line voltage
- on a two wire line (ie the +ve becomes -ve wrt the other line).

- Hoewver, these are not normally sent to a customer unless there is a specific
- need, eg they want to rent a telephone meter from the telephone company.

- A wiring change at the exchange is required to send meter pulses on a 2 wire
- line, so there's no way you can detect meter pulses unless the telephone
- company has agreed to send them to you. Sorry.
