  23. Umm... "bloody" is an English idiomatic usage, originating from
  24. "by our Lady."  I do not think the expression means what you think
  25. it means. :-)

  27. As to evidence, we *do* have a shred testifying to Cheops as tyrant --
  28. namely the tradition recounted to Herodotos by his Egyptian sources.
  29. This is terrily late, and I wouldn't put much weight on it, but it is
  30. a hell of a lot more than we know about him from any *contemporary*
  31. sources.  Given the long run of pyramid mania, we need not postulate
  32. slave-driving and misery in their construction, but that whole issue
  33. is a red herring anyway.
