- My two cents (Note: I am a cheapskate at heart.)
- A couple of years ago I bought a set of twist drill bits from
- China. I thought, "What the hell, its only $40. If they're junk,
- live and learn".
-
- To my surprise they were not junk. I had feared something like
- the set of 9 imported bits I bought as a kid for $.79 (big bucks
- for a pre-inflation twelve year old) and which proved to contain
- steel about as good as the average paper clip. Maybe the Chinese
- bits are not as good as Hansen, but they are as good as the bits
- you get at the local hardware store.
-
- It's nice having the right number drill to use as a pilot for
- a threaded hole without driving to the hardware store.
-
- The worst thing about the set is the sheet metal folding case it
- came in; the various bit holding sections don't move easily enough
- or open completely :-)
