  9. I use both magnetic and nonmagnetic featherboards for a variety of uses.
  10. Table saw and joiner come to mind as the most frequent applications.  
  11. But if you are considering purchasing the magnetic variety, you can make
  12. them easily for about half the cost.  Most tool rags advertise one with an
  13. 80lb magnet for about $30.  Leichtung (sp?) sells 75lb magnets for about
  14. $15.  Make a wooden housing with a slot for a piece of stiff plastic
  15. (available from most hardware stores) and viola!  I added a clamp/screw
  16. mechinism for adjusting the plastic featherboard.
