- I use both magnetic and nonmagnetic featherboards for a variety of uses.
- Table saw and joiner come to mind as the most frequent applications.
- But if you are considering purchasing the magnetic variety, you can make
- them easily for about half the cost. Most tool rags advertise one with an
- 80lb magnet for about $30. Leichtung (sp?) sells 75lb magnets for about
- $15. Make a wooden housing with a slot for a piece of stiff plastic
- (available from most hardware stores) and viola! I added a clamp/screw
- mechinism for adjusting the plastic featherboard.
