- I'm sure you've seen the ones that fit into the miter slot, I feel they work
- better as a tight strong featherboard. Never used the holddown, seems kind of
- cheesy to me, better spend the money on a "real" fence mounted type.
- But this type of featherboard is only good if there is at least an inch or two
- between the board side and the miter slot. The magnetic ones have a real advantage
- here since they can be put anywhere on the table (almost). Usually if i have to
- rip a wide board, i allow some extra and make a second very accurate cut to clean up
- the edges, so my featherboards (one leading, other trailing) are always very close to the blades.
