- I have a 29 deg LNB, and a 6 foot solid aluminum dish, Chaparral Sierra 3.
-
- I have noted that under SETUP 1-1 there is a field that seems to indicate
- signal quality, and that this number is computed even for the channels I
- am not subscribed to.
-
- The questions I have are:
-
- 1. The value seems to be some kind of running average, how long to I have to
- keep on a particular station before the value is truely respresentative of
- that station?
-
- 2. Would it be a useful experiment to record dish size, lnb rating, IRD type
- and then track the values returned by this field?
-
- Basically I am after a quality metric which shows two things: expected visual
- quality of a station to which I an not subscribed, and overall performance of
- a dish/ird/lnb compared to others.
-
- Thanks for any comments.
