- Well, folks, Its already starting... It took longer for the press to
- tell us about the cable bill than it took the cable companies to come
- out with a loophole to defeat the 1992 Cable Bill. This weekends fight
- was a good example.
-
- It is apparent that the cable companies are changing their scrambling
- in an attempt to lock out the dish owners. Maybe we should begin a
- second drive to amend the Cable bill in order to close this loophole.
-
- Right now, we are seeing this with the fights. what is going to stop
- the cable providers from doing the same with movies concerts, etc??
- We are in effect loosing every single right we got under the 1992 Cable
- bill. This situation must be corrected NOW.
-
- As a related note, M2/14 went scrambled (non-VC2/+ format) to transmit
- a soccer game (Mexico-Honduras). Care to guess why? It was being shown
- on a PPV basis by some cable provider here in the USA.
-
- As I said, Its already starting....
