- Hi. Sorry for the question, I don't know where the FAQ is (or
- if there is one for this group). Anyhow, the story goes as
- such. I want to be able to do transfers from Betacam to Hi8 or
- S-VHS and vice versa. I am a complete neophile to Betacam (having
- not seen the ports up close one one yet), and I don't know what it
- has in the way of ports. I believe that they have separatated Y/C
- video somewhere on there. What other ports are available on most
- Betacams? Ie, is there an S-video port (I doubt)? Composite (I doubt)?
- Obviously, I want to get the best transfer possible? If it
- is separated Y/C, then where can I get a cable which will mangle it
- into S-video (which I believe is just separated, but uses 2 lines
- for each Y and C).
-
- PS- I'm also looking for recommendations on S-VHS decks? I'm going
- to buy a Panasonic AG1960, and JVC HRS6800, but I would like one
- more recommendation up to $1200 or so (Can't afford an AG7750 :_(
