  12. Probably the ultimate in programmable remotes is an HP-48 calculator.  A friend
  13. has one that he uses as a remote.  As I understand it, there are two programs
  14. available (PD of course), one that is a learning function, and one that is is
  15. basically pre-programmed.  The beauty is that you can write your own programs
  16. based on this information so that you can get any feature you want.

  18. Around here the HP-48SX goes for around $260, which is expensive compared with
  19. most learning remotes, but they are not as flexible.
