- With a bit of technology you can get the remote to eject the tape. A
- friend has an HP-48 calculator, and a program that know the syntax
- of Sony remote codes. With a bit of playing around we managed to get
- it to eject a tape. We then used the learning portion of the R5's
- remote, and I can now eject a tape from the R5's remote.
-
- I have only had my machine for a couple of weeks, and have just
- discovered that the index marking does not seem to be working.
- According to the manual, the marks should be automatically added
- when a program is recorded, or when the 'Index Mark' button is
- pressed. The 'index' light on the vcr flashes when this is done,
- but nothing appears on the TV. On playback neither index search or
- scan pick up anything. Am I doing something wrong, or is my vcr
- wanting to go back to the shop?
