- The earliest Sony XBR's (e.g., KV-25XBR) had a three position "Trinitone"
- feature to change the color temperature. It had a clear effect on whites
- and could substantially alter the appearance of B&W pictures (old movies).
- It was offered as another way to compensate for room lighting and display.

- For example, "RED" was best for B&W movies (rare during prime time),
- while "BLUE" gave a more video appearance. The colorimetry of the XBR
- was more like film than video anyway, and we found "WHITE" best for
- ordinary viewing. Evidently, this is not a heavily used feature (we
- almost never change it), so Sony is removing it.
