  49.   Yes Betacam (specifically Betacam SP) is probably the best professional, 
  50. non-digital family of VTRs and "camcorders."  However, these are not the 
  51. same as the consumer Betamax.  The only thing the two have in common is the 
  52. tape and tape shell (for the short recording times of 30-minutes or less)--
  53. longer recording times require the Large cassete case.
  54.  
  55. And if you have doubts about Betamax: Don't.  It is the best consumer 
  56. format (in all of its subformats).  Beta is better than VHS, SuperBeta is 
  57. better than VHS-HQ, and ED Beta is much better than S-VHS.  Period.
