- First of all, Betacam is component (as is M2), D2 and 1" are not. This
- provides for less artifacting than one gets with the composite formats.
- Also, while M2 may have a slightly better image quality than Betacam, it
- is not better than Beta SP. Finally, I would love to know where you are buying
- Betacam equipment cheaper than M2...
- The broadcast Beta gear is much more expensive than M2, and MUCH more
- widely used. Go into a dozen post houses and see how many Beta machines
- you find, versus M2...
- I know many editors who prefer Beta SP over 1" or D2, simply because they
- can stay in a component domain.
