  34. I agree with Mazen that Egypt is relatively safe compared to other 
  35. countries. The unprcedented violence in the last few weeks is very
  36. localized and very few people are responsible for it (and I think
  37. the govt is taking the appropriate security measures to guarantee
  38. the safety of all visitors). One piece of advice that may be helpful
  39. is to use plane or train when travelling to southern Egypt (rather
  40. than buses). Otherwise, as long as you are in big cities like 
  41. Cairo, Alex, Luxor, or Aswan, you will be very safe esp if you are
  42. with your group. Beware of the Bazaar shops. You need all your
  43. bargaining skills :-)
