- I agree with Mazen that Egypt is relatively safe compared to other
- countries. The unprcedented violence in the last few weeks is very
- localized and very few people are responsible for it (and I think
- the govt is taking the appropriate security measures to guarantee
- the safety of all visitors). One piece of advice that may be helpful
- is to use plane or train when travelling to southern Egypt (rather
- than buses). Otherwise, as long as you are in big cities like
- Cairo, Alex, Luxor, or Aswan, you will be very safe esp if you are
- with your group. Beware of the Bazaar shops. You need all your
- bargaining skills :-)
