- In many countries it's the case that if you reserve a room and don't
- show up to take it, you're legally liable to the hotel for the cost of
- the room if they can't rent it to someone else. I know this is the case
- in Britain, and from what you say it's apparently the case also in
- Germany. So it seems possible that the hotel is within their rights
- under German law to bill you.
