  29. I live in Chicago but often traveled to the Far-East for business.  Regardless
  30. of foreign or U.S based carrier (I flew on ANA, Cathay-Pacific, JAL, United,
  31. as well as Northwest), everytime I landed on the west-coast (Seattle, S.F, or
  32. L.A) I had to go through Immigrations & Customs.

  34. If you have boxes, then don't forget to bring along a roll of tape to be used
  35. after Customs are done with it.  I'm not very fond of Immigrations & Customs
  36. officials here in the U.S.  They seem to exude a sense of intimidations without
  37. being professionals about it.  At times it seemed rude to me.  Several
  38. countries provide tapes for use by travellers after going through customs.  The
  39. U.S is not one of them, so bring a spare roll of tape if you want to send your
  40. luggage on the connecting flight.

  42. One time I came to Chicago via Toronto (from London) and had to pass customs
  43. in Toronto too, now that I think about it.  I guest gateway cities handle that
  44. duty of processing incoming passengers
