-
- Country Description: The Republic of Palau is a constitutional
- democracy administered by the U.S. as the Trust Territory of the
- Pacific Islands since July 18, 1947, pursuant to a trusteeship
- agreement approved by the United Nations. It has a developing
- agrarian economy. Tourist facilities are available only on a
- limited basis.
-
- Entry Requirements: Proof of U.S. citizenship and an onward/return
- ticket are required for stays of up to 30 days. Extensions are
- available in Palau for a $50 fee. Further specific information is

- low. Useful information on guarding valuables and protecting

- from the Superintendent of Documents, U.S. Government Printing

- illegal drugs are strict, and convicted offenders can expect jail
