- There are Christmas Frais on the four weekends before Christmas in many
- German towns and villages.
-
- The most famous one is the Christkindelsmarks in Nuernberg (Nuremberg),
- but this is incredibly crowded and filled up with tourists.
- Personally i would avoid it, but IF you (or your parents) will visit
- Nuernberg anyway for the other sights, go ahead ...
-
- Sometimes the smaller markets are more rewarding, as they have less food
- outlets and more Christmas gifts, handcarved figures and the such.
-
- A nice one is at Michelstadt in the Odenwald (roughly in the Frankfurt/Main -
- Heidelberg area), but there is such a multitude ...
- (I visit normally the one in Darmstadt/Eberstadt, but surely no tourist
- will ever come near that place :-) )
-
- If your parents have more specific regions where they will visit, please feel
- free to contact me via e-mail, and I will try to help.
-
- Regards, Lutz
