- I changed planes in Houston last week on my way back from London. They
- read lengthy announcements about which flights would be able to go directly
- to the gate on their way to Mexico and which would have to clear US
- Customs before going on to Mexico. Apparently, the best answer is
- "logically, you shouldn't have to clear customs twice but it depends on
- many random (but usually stupid) factors."

- You might contact the Chilean consulate or embassy to find out if you
- need any sort of in-transit visa, just in case.
