  14. I'm going to have to jump in folks and say something good about Alamo.  I'm
  15. just back from a holiday on the west coast. I spent 4 days in S.F. and then
  16. went to pick up a car I had already booked for a drive to Las Vegas.  I got
  17. my car, no problem, drove out of the rental place, and then discovered I'd
  18. made the biggest mistake of my life.  I'd completely under-estimated the
  19. difficulties in driving on the right hand side of the road.  Couple that
  20. problem with being in a strange city, and different rules of the road, and of
  21. course being on my own so no navigator, I very quickly decided that I would
  22. probably kill someone (most likely me).  So I headed back for the rental
  23. place.  Now I think its around here somewhere.... 2 Hours later, I gave up,I
  24. couldn't find it, so as a last resort, I flagged down a cab, and hired him
  25. to lead me to the alamo rental!!  When I got there, I explained the situation,
  26. I think that it was quite visible that I was a bit shaken up, but I was very
  27. suprised that they gave me a FULL refund, even though I'd had the car for
  28. about 3 hours and obviously used some petrol too.  I had been expecting at
  29. least a day to be taken, or, as I had booked in advance for 1 week, they
  30. could have taken the lot.  But no they didn't take a single penny.  Now I
  31. don't know if a caught them on a good day or what, but my faith was restored
  32. in big company policy that day.

  34. Seeing all the flank that Alamo was taking here, I just had to tell my story.
