  17. Just to clarify a bit, Steffi's streak is 101 tournaments, not matches (she
  18. has played nearly 500 matches since '85).  Until a few days ago Steffi had
  19. reached the quarterfinals of every tournament she played since Britain's
  20. Jo Durie knocked her out in the 2nd round of the Brighton tournament in
  21. Oct. 1985 (Steffi was ~#7 at the time). In those 101 tournaments, Steffi
  22. lost in only 5 quarterfinals, lost in 11 semifinals, reached 85 finals, &
  23. won 69 of them.  That makes only 32 losses in 7 years.  IMHO, an outstanding
  24. run, to say the least.  Looks like Lori really busted a big one.
